Golfing in the Vail Valley

With a background featuring towering mountains, rivers and pines, it’s no wonder why golf is such a popular activity in the Vail Valley. The following golf courses are listed in order of distance from the Vail Racquet Club Mountain Resort.

Vail Golf Club – 4.4 miles

Highlighted by views of the Gore Mountain Range, Vail’s mountain-style, 18-hole course features unique fairways, smooth putting surfaces and a scenic layout amidst the White River National Forest.  For more information visit Vail Golf Club.

EagleVail Golf Club – 13.5 miles

EagleVail Golf Club offers a full 18 hole course as well as the Willow Creek Par 3. It offers leagues, lessons and has a restaurant inside of the clubhouse. Created in the 1970s, it stands as one of the more established golf courses in the area.  For more information visit eaglevailgolfclub.com.

Beaver Creek Golf Club – 17.4 miles

One of the more well-groomed courses, Beaver Creek Golf Course is one of the older courses along with EagleVail Golf Club. It was established in 1982 and showcases the beautiful scenery of the Vail Valley.  For more information, visit beavercreek.com.

Sonnenalp Club – 19.9 miles

Located in the SingleTree neighborhood of Edwards the Sonnenalp Golf Club offers 18 holes of fabulous golfing and is one of the first to open and last to close with one of the longest golfing seasons in the Vail Valley.

Cordillera Golfing – 26.3 miles

The Club at Cordillera is home to four very distinct golf courses: Valley, Mountain, Summit and Short. Each with their very own unique characteristics and elevation makes a round of golf not only memorable but unsurpassed in its ability to challenge and mesmerize the golfer.

Red Sky Ranch – 27.8 miles

Steeper fairways, an abundance of bunkers and thicker grass make this a bit of a challenging course. The course is more or less on a hillside, but this is a course that more experienced golfers will enjoy.  For more information, visit redskygolfclub.com.

Eagle Ranch Golf Club – 37.4 miles

Eagle Ranch Golf Club has a bit more rugged terrain than most of the courses. Their 18 hole course can be a little more rigorous, but they offer decent rates and have a knowledgeable staff.  For more information, visit eagleranchgolf.com.

Gypsum Creek Golf Course – 43.3 miles

With rolling fairways and ridges of luxurious homes surrounding the course, Gypsum Creek offers very open scenery. As with the others, they offer leagues and lessons and have a restaurant on the course.  For more information, visit gypsumcreekgolf.com.
